Magical Jungle by Johanna Basford: An Inky Expedition & Coloring Book

On August 9, 2016, Johanna Basford’s latest adult coloring book, Magical Jungle, will be for sale.

For those of us who already own Secret Garden, Enchanted Forest, and Lost Ocean, it will be a welcome addition to our collections. But, if it is your first book by Johanna, you will surely not be disappointed by the jungle scenes.

There are also mandalas,

curving vines,

and butterflies.

There are deer coming forth from the foliage,

both in a large scale…

or in very tiny clusters.

And for those of us who like trees best of all, they are in abundance.

Johanna gives us animals to find, such as:

  • crocodiles
  • hummingbirds
  • tigers
  • snakes
  • butterflies
  • elephants
  • chameleons
  • ants
  • tropical birds
  • dragonflies
  • toucans
  • parrots
  • monkeys
  • lemurs and
  • frogs

But, she also gives some Tips for Exploring such as:

Pencils are the most versatile medium for coloring and will allow you to mix and blend your colors.

Pens will give you a vibrant pop of color, but songbirds too hard, and remember to test them before you dive in!

  1. Oh, I like this one! I love trees. I have Secret Garden but have not bought her others. Mainly because I have so many colouring books that I am good for a very long time! lol

  2. This looks beautiful. I have The Secret Garden but I still have a long ways to go before finishing it so I’m trying to hold off before I buy another. I really like her books and there is another titled Lost Cities or something like that which I’m leaning towards as well.
