Friday Fill Ins

1. Angel or not, I will entertain them unawares. (Hebrews 13:2)

2. You can’t have me any way you want me.

3. As my mother used to say, you’re full of water, an element she says I resemble because it’s unobtrusive but incredibly strong.

4. Did you say working out? I never work out! Walk the path by the river, maybe, but nothing strenuous…after I’m done working out or doing something strenuous.

5. Even in the most crowded of rooms I imagine myself reading in peace.

6. The day America gives up what she was founded on is a day fraught with peril.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to reading several books I have waiting for review, tomorrow my plans include hopefully a bicycle ride and Sunday, I want to not cry because it’s the last day of Spring break!

Blessings on your weekend,

  1. I'm starting to cry now! Work is ick lately, and I used to love teaching. I think it's the administration I'm not loving, but enough of that here…Wait a minute, did I beat you on posting your Friday Fill ins? 😉

  2. Your answers are terrific. I especially like # 5, guess that's the sign of an introverted heart. Remember, we like people, just get our energy from being by ourselves. When it's time to go back to work, you'll find the strength.

  6. I'm so sorry I haven't been around your blog for a long time. I haven't been blogging much myself, but I just wanted to drop by and say hi, wish you a good weekend and a nice Easter (if you celebrate that) and apologize for being scarce. I am finishing my Master thesis and this takes up most of my time. Hopefully, by the end of May, I will be able to blog more and participate more around the blogosphere.I am still reviewing books from time to time on my blog, but I am not really active.I don't expect you to come running visiting and commenting, I just wanted to let you know that I am very much alive and I miss reading and commenting on your blog very much. This is a personal message written to all the blogowner, whose delightful blogs I visit on a regular basis, but it has been copy/pasted. So if you find it on other blogger's blogs, that is why.I look very much forward to be active again – and apologize once again for not being active the past month and not being able to be active for another month or two.Louise,http://louspages.blogspot.com

  7. Bike ride?! Good for you, if you get to. It's far too windy here today, with rain in the forecast, followed by thunder snow and blizzard conditions. I'm going to hunker down with my coffee and books and do NOTHING! 🙂

  8. Ah, Les, that's my favorite thing to do: nothing. And, I'm an expert at it, so call me if you need any lessons. ;)It turned out to be way too cold to do any biking this week. I hunkered down and read myself, but I only got 3 and a half books read: In the Woods, Madame Bovary, The Curious Life of Benjamin Button, and Eat, Sleep, Sit. That later which is awesome, by the way.Have a good day reading, my friend!

  10. Oh, I took that photo in Italy when I was there during 2001. It always makes me happy looking at it; I feel more at home in Italy than I ever will in the States, I'm afraid.

  11. You answer to #5 is wonderful, what a gift that is. I would be utterly distracted and watching the people around me. Which is why I'm astounded by your answer to #7 – to read several books in one night!! I'm way too distracted for that. I wish you luck with your weekend plans.

  12. Not several books in one night, Tamara, I should have said several books in one weekend. I'm not that fast of a reader because I like to dwell in the text. As a teacher friend of mine says, "It's a journey, not a race." I'm actually a horribly slow reader.
