Mailbox Monday

by Bellezza

In my mailbox this past week I found:

Let’s Pretend This Never Happened by Jenny Lawson from Penguin USA
The Love Child by Amanda Brookfield from Penguin Books
The Secret of Happy Ever After by Lucy Dillon from Penguin USA
Lifesaving Lessons by Linda Greenlaw from Viking
The Falcons of Fire and Ice by Karen Maitland from Penguin Books

Also, Nadia of A Bookish Way of Life sent me two beautiful hardcover books knowing how much I’d enjoy them after reading about them on her blog:
Behind The Beautiful Forevers by Katherine Boo which was the winner of the 2012 National Book Award
The Age of Miracles by Karen Thompson Walker which was named one of the best books of the year by Booklist, Kirkus Reviews and Publishers Weekly. You can read more praise about it here.

Ally, of Snow Feathers, sent me a beautiful picture of the Carnivale in Venice along with a card to thank me for co-hosting the Venice in February Challenge this year. Allie, the pleasure is all mine!

Chris of Stuff as Dreams Are Made On sent me a postcard with one of Yoshimoto Nara‘s drawings on it. Love it! In fact, I’d used the same artist’s work for my Japanese Literature Challenge 2 button, with a dog sitting at a desk; so Chris? You knew exactly what to send me! Thank you so much!

Finally, I am getting lots of mail from my Marine recruit in San Diego; we’ve received eight letters in six weeks! My heart is so full of thankfulness to God for hearing our prayers about our son’s direction. I’m so excited about what’s happening in his life I’ll have to write a whole new post on another day.
Mailbox Monday is being hosted in March by Caitlin at Chaotic Compendium.
