You Just Keep Thinkin’ Butch, That’s What You’re Good At
I’m watching Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid tonight. Right now, as I type. Can I tell you how much I love this movie? I love this movie.
Before Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and other current actors who think they’re manly men, there was Paul Newman and Robert Redford.
There were songs like “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head” and other Burt Bacharach wonders.
There were women the likes of Katherine Ross, whose face once adorned the cover of Vogue magazine. In this film? She’s a teacher, and it makes me curious if that wasn’t a small piece of why I longed to become a teacher, too, when I first saw her in the 1970’s.
It’s a trip down memory lane. But, it’s a worthy one. If you haven’t yet seen this film, do so. Because as Pam Houston wrote for the title of her book, Cowboys Are My Weakness.
